The Color of Emotion
You are welcome to drop in anytime during the performance to participate.
An interactive art performance that connects colors to places and emotions and that will tour cities around the world, so far New York and Copenhagen, with upcoming performances in Cairo, Casablanca, Kashmir, Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris and Mexico City will be coming to Sonoma in early October.
The Color of Emotion, by international artists Anna Senno and Olga de la Iglesia, is a live art performance meant to be a healing and transformative experience for all participants. The piece is coming to California as part of Sonoma Ecology Centers event series focused on the anniversary of the October 2017 fires and both hosts and artists hope it will perform a service here as art therapy. The event is free of charge and open to all.
At each location, the colors used in the piece are locally sourced and selected through an investigation of their cultural meanings and associations in that place. The artists then use those colors as a medium to explore emotional identity.
At the end, a filmed conversation is held between the artists and the participants, who share the stories behind their emotions and choice of colors. A 25-minute film will be produced using that footage.
